Your error is not a ClassNotFoundException. It 's a
NoClassDefFoundError. They are different. It happens because you have
multiple copies of servl- did you do the Servlet mapping in web.xml?
- Editing CLASSPATH in Tomcat 's script only makes things worse. Classloader
is smart enough to load all the necessay jars.
