It 's because you have both autoDeploy/liveDeploy enabled (which makes
tomcat scan the appBase directory for webapps and deploy them
automatically) AND a Context explicitly defined in server.xOooooh use the source Luke!(tm) )

I 'm using the Jakarta Standard Taglib implementation of JSTL 1.1 with
