  | | | help! A j2ee error | help! A j2ee error 2004-10-24 - By Feng Xian
Back I am a newbie to J2EE. These days I was playing a benchmark which dedicated to testing j2ee server. During the testing, I needed to deploy a bean file SPECjAppServer.ear. (My OS is linux, j2sdkee1.3 and oracle 9 are running at the local host. I have already added a driver and datasource to j2ee server by the following commands: $ j2eeadmin -addJdbcDriver oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver $ j2eeadmin -addJdbcDatasource jdbc/SPECDB jdbc:oracle:thin:@(protected):1521:specdb , where specdb is a database in the oracle)
$J2EE_HOME/bin/deploytool -deploy SPECjAppServer.ear localhost SPECjAppServer.jar
I got the following error.
Deploy the application in SPECjAppServer.ear on the server localhost saving the client jar as SPECjAppServer.jar Sender object Deploy Tool : Deploy SPECjAppServer on localhost Remote message: Contacted Server.... Remote message: Application SPECjAppServer transferred. Sender object Deploytool (Main) : RemoteException occurred in server thread; nested exception is: java.rmi.RemoteException : Error saving/opening
After I looked into error.log under the $J2EE_HOME directory, I found the following error:
com.sun.enterprise.deployment.xml.ContentTransformationException: This bean has no resource reference by the name of UtilDat aSource at com.sun.enterprise.deployment.xml.RuntimeDescriptorNode .updateRuntimeInformation(RuntimeDescriptorNode.java:797) at com.sun.enterprise.deployment.ApplicationArchivist.open(ApplicationArchivist .java:489) at com.sun.enterprise.tools.deployment.backend.JarInstallerImpl.deployApplication (JarInstallerImpl.java:147) at org.omg.stub.com.sun.enterprise.tools.deployment.backend._JarInstallerImpl_Tie. _invoke(Unknown Source) at com.sun.corba.ee.internal.corba.ServerDelegate.dispatch(ServerDelegate.java:355) at com.sun.corba.ee.internal.iiop.ORB.process(ORB.java:255) at com.sun.corba.ee.internal.iiop.RequestProcessor.process(RequestProcessor.java :84) at com.sun.corba.ee.internal.orbutil.ThreadPool$PooledThread.run(ThreadPool.java :99).
How to solve this problem? Any help is appreciated.
