Back Using J2EE for any application is not the right option. You should ask why you would require J2EE or why not to use J2EE.
I have tried Oracle Oc4J, IBM and JBoss. I like JBoss becos its easy to build.
IBM is a mother load of stuff that you may or may not need. Use this if you require high performance requirement.
Oc4J is light and small but not necessarily the best.
See if pico container fits your need.

hi,
I got a new assigment to build a system management system. I really need your guys help.
let me give a brief description.
our company is to provide solutions for telecomunications based on SIP protocal for wifi or other softphones.currently our company has build serveral application servers:
1: Voice Communication servder: call establishment; developed with c (similar to SER server)
2. Adminstrator System: used by system manager to provision users, calling detail recording.
I am requited to build another network systme management. It's major functionality is :monitor all the servers's status(running or stalling),cpu usage of every server; remote automatically restart servers.
I am hoping to use J2ee framwork(Jboss platform) to develop, i did some research and feel i should use JMX to work on that, However i still can't figure out how to start it.
WebSphere Application Server(IBM) provide such features. but we hope to use open source paltform like JBoss.
Any one could tell me how to start and what technology to use.
Thanks in advance
bill
