Subject: Problems streaming PDF files 2005-01-13 - By Frank W. Zammetti (MLists)
Back Well, I can't speak to the exact problem your having, but I can tell you about an application I've done that served up PDFs a lot...
I found that streaming PDFs is an extremely problematic thing to do with IE, because the Acrobat plug-in is piss-poor, to put it bluntly. It would work fine for some users, but not for others, then a week or two later the users that were working would suddenly not work, things of that nature.
What I finally wound up doing is instead of streaming the PDFs as you are doing, I write them to the file system and redirect the browser directly to the PDF. This has solved every problem I've seen with Acrobat.
I highly suggest going that route, if it's feasible in your case. You will save yourself a lot of headache I think.
