[iText-questions] Problems in Adobe Version 7.0 with acroForm Field Names

Richard Hurst

2005-05-24

Hi

I am quite new to using Adobe forms and have been creating a form for
use with Itext following the exapmples shown.

I am trying to populate a form from some details we are providing for
the form with an object created in a java program.

The basic problem is that the data that I am giving the form (using an
method similar to that shown in Register.java example) does not seem to
be reaching it

I have examined the object created during the process by stepping
through the program with NetBeans 3.6, When I look at the acroForm
object -> fieldByName all I can see is a load of junk rather than the
field name

To be certain it was not me I compiled the Register.java example and
ran it through Netbeans and the fieldByName object details are perfectly
legible.

My main query is - is there a difference between the way Adobe stores
these details between the releases and which release of Adobe was used
to create the Register.java example?

Hoping you can help

Richard Hurst
