Hi,
I have an existing PDF file that defines the layout
for a form. (Not an Acrobat form, you can call it
non-fillable form. There are no input fields.
Currently, you need to take a printout and fill the
information in the hard copy manually.)
E.g. In the PDF, I have
Name: ____________
Email:____________
I want to use iText to fill in the information and
allow users to take a printout of the pre-populated
form. I am able to add the information to the PDF file
using PdfWriter and PdfContentByte but I am not able
to get the info to the correct locations within the
file. I need to arrive at the position by trial and
error. Is there any way for me to know the exact
position of a particular character in the PDF file,
such as the starting position of the placeholder
"______", so that I can start writing at the same
position.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Amit
