I have read the answer to this question about a week ago on some forum,
but I can't find it anymore and I forgot the most important part of the
answer.
Part of the answer is that the cache is not kept by the browser,
but by Adobe Reader. You can test this:
Test 1:
Open any browser (MSIE, Firefox,...).
Fill in a PDF form and submit.
Close the browser and look at the active processes.
Even if Adobe Reader is closed, an acrord32.exe
process is still active.
Now open the browser again, go to the
PDF form: you will see the data previously
entered because the data was cached by the
Adobe Reader process.
Test 2:
Open any browser (MSIE, Firefox,...).
Fill in a PDF form and submit.
Close the browser and look at the active processes.
Even if Adobe Reader is closed, an acrord32.exe
process is still active. KILL IT!!!
Now open the browser again, go to the
PDF form: you will see the data previously
entered has disappeared!
If I am not mistaken, somebody gave a tip on how
to prevent Adobe Reader from staying active or
caching the data, but sometimes I confuse my wishes
with reality. Maybe you should post this on comp.text.pdf
because it's a general PDF question (not iText related).

Bruno
