How to fallback to HTTP/1.0

Robert

2006-11-30

Hello,

I am having some problems with IE6, XMLHttpRequest, NTLM (jcifs) and
Tomcat 5.5. I get various HTTP errors such as a 505 response status.
The problem I am having is similar as described in
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=31567

I know the problem itself is not in Tomcat. However I would like to
know if there is a possibility to fallback to HTTP 1.0 for certain
user agents. I looked at the documentation, but could not find it.
On JBoss WIKI at
http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JBossWSAndDotNet
they mentioned a restrictedUserAgents parameter. However the
Tomcat documentation says that this affects the KEEP_ALIVE,
and so cannot solve my problems.

As far as I know it is impossble to set XMLHttpRequest to
do a HTTP/1.0 request.

Any suggestions?

Robert
