Fast growing mid-cap Software company is adding three Lead Developer /
Software Architect positions to its Seattle area office. Responsible for
design and development of large scale distributed
applications. Development projects are very leading edge.
Specifies, designs, implements and maintains software components. Is
familiar with a variety of software concepts, practices, and procedures.
Uses broad knowledge of company's product and strong technical background
to contribute to feature design processes for the product.
Requirements:
Deep knowledge of:
-Java and J2EE
-Java class libraries
-JVM design and implementation, JVM internals and tuning
-Java threading model
-JFC/Swing
-J2EE interfaces and market leading products (e.g. BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere)
-Multiple programming platforms (C, C++, Java)
-Operating systems (UNIX and Windows platforms)
-Communication protocols like TCP/IP, HTTP, IIOP
-Design and development of large scale distributed applications
-Message-queuing middleware
-RPC-based network programming
-Database technologies and Transaction processing
-OO design techniques and heuristics (OOD/OOP)
-Application architectures and design patterns
-Algorithms and data structures
-Software methodologies and notations (UML, RUP, etc.)
-Configuration Management tools (e.g. CVS)
General Attributes:
-Extremely productive as an independent developer
-Background in most phases of development (i.e., analysis through deployment)
-Able to take components from inception through finished product with
minimal external help
-Enjoys working in small - mid-sized teams, works well with others
-Enjoys difficult challenges, a problem solver
-Discipline in good engineering practices (e.g. documentation, unit test
generation)
Work Experience and Education:
-8+ years in software industry including participation in a few
enterprise-class projects
-Significant software product development experience working directly for a
software company
-Architected, designed, developed, deployed, and maintained multiple J2EE
applications
-Built and shipped multiple complex enterprise or shrink-wrapped products
-Lead or supervised 3-4 person teams to accomplish complex tasks
-BS or MS in Computer Science or related work experience
