Hello

I have saw a lot of discussion about ServiceLocator pattern and I get some
doubts.

http://www.javaranch.com/newsletter/Jan2003/slcode.html show a
implementation of this pattern.
This implementation make cache of EJBHome and EJBLocalHome.
I have saw others implementations that make ir too.

show a problem with this functionality (cache)

And the implementation of petstore of blueprints have two implementations
of ServiceLocator: one with cache and another without cache.
The implementation with cache is used in the Web tier, and the other is
used in the EJB Tier.

My doubts:

1) Can I make cache of EJBHome and EJBLocalHome in my ServiceLocator
implementation ? If yes, What about the problem showed in the second link?

2) Why petstore implementation make two ServiceLocator implementations?
