Back Hi all,
I have the following problem.
In my web application there is a business layer that provide some beans to the GUI. In some cases the GUI ask for a set of beans of the same class.
Suppose the bean is Person with the property: name surname email age and so on city
the GUI get a set of bean Person through a query because it want apply a change to all the components selected. For example it want select all the person and set the city to Rome.
Suppose now only one element is returned to the GUI (that represents all the object selected) and diplayed on a web page according to this requirements: for a property x, it must be empty if there is at lest one bean with a different value a property x=KKK if all the beans has the property x equal to KKK
This is the same thing when you select a text in Word and the text has different fornts -> in the font list box an empty box is displayed.
My question is: is there a well know pattern to handle this stuff? is there a way to say in the domain object passed from business layer to the GUI, the property x is different for the beans selected?
Any suggestions are welcomed. Bye
