I dont see the association between filter-name and servlet-name established in web.xml as in this example
<filter-mapping>
<filter-name>adfFaces</filter-name>
<servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
</filter-mapping>

Another thing to check is make sure you have the jsf/core and jsf/html taglibs defined in each jsp
<%@(protected)" %>
<%@(protected)" %>

Also with STAT_SAVING="client" try to view source on the jsp page in browser and see if you can see 'state' saved as hidden field in your form

Probably missing something obvious here..anyone else?
Tak

Hi!

Please bare over with as I’m completely new to using Tomcat, not least in
conjunction with Jdeveloper!

I have created a database using Jdeveloper, and subsequently used the
programme to compile what I thought was a Tomcat compatible WAR-file.

I deployed the WAR-file to Tomcat, only to be greeted by the following
message: “Application at context path [filename] could not be started”.

I’m obviously not getting vary far in the process. I had (naively) hoped
that a deployed WAR-file would generate an accessible online database, but I
have clearly misunderstood certain issues. I have tried looking through the
documentation that accompanies Tomcat without success.

I was unsure as to whether this is the appropriate .xml file (web.xml) for
the application called Elstock. Perhaps it could cast some light on the
issue….
