Back Hi, the J2SE timer is not really an enterprise timer service which is part of the motivation for the new J2EE1.4 Timer service. There is no standard tinmer in pre J2EE1.4 so you will have to something non-portable. You could try using J2SE timer but make sure you test it to see if it has the granularity of time slices and the functionality you need first. J2EE1.4 is available as a beta download, with the final release coming soon. If interested you could download it at http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/download-beta2.html
