Do post the data to a server script which inturn will write data to the file.
If file name needs to be decided by the applet then you can send it as a parameter.

Subject: Writing file on the server

Hello everybody,

Is there any way by which an Applet  can write file at a location from where that applet is originating.

I tried using getCodeBase() and URLConnection class, but nothing works.

Even on Google,I read something like , we have to create some CGI scripts for writing file on the server.

Can anybody from this group throw some light on this.

Thanks & Regards,
Prashant S.
