What is the command to set servlet.jar in Linux Fedora Core 2.6.9-1.667

What is the command to set servlet.jar in Linux Fedora Core 2.6.9-1.667

Dear All,

 So far, I've been using Windows XP operating system
to run my
servlets. Now, I want to change to Linux Fedora
(2.6.9-1.667). The operating
system was installed for me by someone and he had
already set JAVA_HOME
for me. I'm actually very new to Linux Fedora and not
familiar with the
commands. I tried to compile my servlet using the
command-line using
Linux Fedora but errors were displayed. It seems that
the compiler cannot
detect the servlet.jar files. I understand that in
Windows XP, the
following command is added in the Control Panel ->
System -> Advanced ->
Environment -> Variables -> System Variables (type the
variable and
value) as follows:

 CATALINA_HOME=c:\jakarta-tomcat-4 (See http://cat-4.ora-code.com).1.31

CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%CATALINA_HOME%\common\lib\servlet.jar

 Where and how can I set the environment variables as
above using
Linux Fedora? What is the command? Should I use the su
command first before
setting the environment variables? Please help me!
Thank you.

 Yours Sincerely,
 TEH NORANIS
