JDOM compatibility ??

JDOM compatibility ??

Hi:
We have a JSP based application using JDOM Beta 5 and another Java
application which uses JDOM Beta 7.  We can get only one app working at a
time by pointing to that Jar file.  When we use JDOM came with App 1 , then
existing EC applications fails, When we use the old JDOM then App 2 fails.
In theory, if we point to the higher version of JDOM, the old app should
also work, but fails.

Isn't JDOM backward compatible ? How do I solve this problem, please help.
Thanks,
