I am trying to create some text in a cell in a table with the first line of
text underlined and subsequent text normal.

I create a Chunk for the first line using a UNDERLINED font and then create
a Chunk for the remaining text using NORMAL text. I now create a
Paragraph(chunk1) with the first Chunk and then add the second Chunk to the
paragraph (add(chunk2)).

When the text is displayed it is all UNDERLINED. Any idea on what I am
doing wrong here ?

This, by the way, is all generating a RTF file not a PDF file.
