Yes it was, I didn't realize that Arvid's reply was sent to
my personal address instead of to the mailing list.
Anyway, this is part of his reply:

"My tool is extensible, it is able to load jar files as plugins
for import and export functions. So the export of PDF files is
one of these plugin jars. To load these plugins easier into my
tool I didn't put the iText jar file into the classpath.
Instead of that I unzipped the iText jar file and built the class
files of iText into the jar file of my program module.
Actually that works, but obviously not well.
Now I don't unzip the iText jar file. I adopt it as it stands.
This is the solution for my problem."

I think Arvid overlooked the AFM files or something like that.
