Now I can reproduce the problem.
When I compare the two resulting PDF documents,
I see that the Font is missing in the second PDF.
If I create a new instance of the Image before
creating the second PDF, the font is still there.
For the moment, I don't know what is causing this problem.
This demands further investigation.
