iText may be able to retrieve the PDF you added, but there's no simple way to do it. I wouldn't advise to use iText for it. The suggestion made by Gerold is a very good one: if you are the one producing the PDF, why not put the information in an AcroField?

Not with iText. The lines of a barcode are added to the PDF as vector data, not as a raster image. br, Bruno
