I'm really sorry. I was wrong about this. I had been copying and pasting
the examples into my own class and didn't realize that this example was
extending another class. My mistake: This example works exactly as stated.

The example titled "Bookmarks" on the tutorial
http://itextdocs.lowagie.com/tutorial/ doesn't seem to do what it's
claiming. It also has a method defined that is never called named
onParagraph

I’m really sorry.  I was wrong
