Subject: Difference between itext and adobe when creating pdf 's

Hi,

We want to create a pdf using 8 images. But when creating a pdf using itext
we get a filesize of about 25 MB for one pdf. This is not so supprising if
you take in consideration that we have about 8 images of about 4 MB each.

But when we use adobe indesign to do the same thing we get a file size of
about 5 MB. Somehow adobe manages to compress the filesize of the pdf
without reducing the quality. What is adobe doing that is not done in itext.
Are there any settings or anything else we have missed to set, or has adobe
some compression algorithm that itext don't?

Regards Christian
