Need to start one Java thread in one instance of clustered env

While migrating my J2EE application from WL5.1 to WL8.1, I am facing the
following issue.

Objective:-
I need to call one startup class only in one instance across the cluster.

Description:-
I had written a Servlet(with <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>),this
Servlet will be called
when I start application server. Then inside the init method of this Servlet
I am calling
another RMI thread from this Servlet.Since this piece of code shared by
cluster with 4 instances
this thread is running on all  the 4 instances in the clustered environment.
I need to call this RMI thread
class only in one instance across the cluster. This thread needs to call
EJB, which is packaged with EAR file.
That is the reason I can't make it as a start up class and assign it to
single server, I need to keep
all the startup classes in system class path. Since system class path has
top in class path hierarch
I can't access EJBs which are packaged with ear file.

Your thoughts on this highly appreciated.

Thanks
Senthil
