Hi,
Apache is a web server (mainly support static html).
Tomcat is a servlet container (mainly support servlets, and by the way
jsp, but don't support EJBs).
JBoss is an EJB container (support EJBs, and is using tomcat as embedded
component to support servlets and jsp).
All of them can work together using jakarta-connectors.
Just my 2 cents.
