It's indeed not documented right now. It will be in 5.0.17.

As for using it, sorry, I just noticed there was a bug (a lame one: the
regular expression array is not initialized correctly) in the feature,
so it is not useable with 5.0.16. It will be in 5.0.17 which I will tag
later today.
