I recently installed Tomcat version 5.0.14 from a binary distribution
download.=0D
My system is a laptop running Redhat Linux 9 (kernel release 2.4.20-8).=0D
=0D
I "untared" the tomcat tar-file and everything looked OK.=0D
=0D
I started the Mozilla browser and was successful in visiting=0D
http://localhost:8080=0D
=0D
I followed the "instructions" in the sample build.xml file and was=0D
able to successfully compile my application. I wasn't able to install=0D
my application from the commandline using "ant". I was able to use the=0D
Mozilla browser and use the manager webapp to deploy the application.=0D
=0D
Why can't I us"ant" from the commandline to deploy/install my=0D
application ?=0D
=0D
It then occurred to me that the other TAR files comprising the=0D
Tomcat 5.0.14 binary distribution had something to do with my=0D
problems. I untar'ed those Tarfiles. The contents after I=0D
untared those files looks something like the structure of a Tomcat5=0D
application; they have build.xml files, etc...=0D
But what do I do with these other 2 structures :=0D
"deployer" and "embed" ? I tried running ant to install the=0D
deployer, but with no luck.=0D
=0D
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
