IANAL, but my reading of the Apache license permits you redistribute a
modified version of Tomcat 5 as long as you adhere to the restrictions. Of
course, the safest bet is to hand off a copy of the license to your legal
department, and follow their recommendations :).

We are building an application and are thinking about using TOMCAT 5,
what is the redistribution license like if we decide to do so.
Can we ship our application with Tomcat 5, as we want to, e.g. only
including those files that are absolutely necessary ?

If you don't know perhaps there is someone you can forward me to or a
link where I can read more about this?
