Howdy,
Tomcat has an internal JNDI provider as mandated by the Servlet Specification. That's a directory server for internal services listed in tomcat's server.xml file. If you need something more, e.g. a directory or JNDI server accessible from outside clients, you need to look elsewhere like a full-fledged J2EE container or a stand-alone JNDI provider.
