Uh oh, Tomcat script will change all your CLASSPATH settings. Put the mail.jar & activation.jar in some directory where Tomcat will load it. Earlier it was <tomcat-dir>/server/lib. You could also put it in your <webapp>/WEB-INF/lib directory. I am not very sure about 5.x configuration.
