Daniel/Peter,
This really belongs in a thread of its own, so here it is.
We use Apache on one machine to serve html and images, and use the jk
mechanism to forward
jsp pages to another machine running Tomcat. What was it that "makes no
sense",
is it the running Tomcat and Apache on the same machine? If so, it is not
hard
to run Tomcat and Apache on seperate machines.

use tomcat directly, since most of their traffic is dynamic.

Finally someone brought this up... The images hosted somewhere else is a
really good solution that I've even done in the past, and forgot about.
Thanks for reminding us.
So that means the only other hurdles to using tomcat without apache are
getting certificates installed, which has daunted many, and possibly
that someone may use apache for other things like mod_rewrite, etc.
