R: servlet access in the same time and the result "error "(urgent )

 Back
Hi,
I had have the same problem with code that seem like this.
public class Aextends HttpServlet {
java.io.PrintWriter Source code of java.io.PrintWriter out;
.....
protected void processRequest(HttpServletRequest request,
                       HttpServletResponse response) throws
ServletException,
                       java.io.IOException Source code of java.io.IOException {

out.println("AAA");
}

}
in this case user A sometime see the data for user B or viceversa.

I change the declaration of out and now all work fine.
public class Aextends HttpServlet {
.....
protected void processRequest(HttpServletRequest request,
                       HttpServletResponse response) throws
ServletException,
                       java.io.IOException Source code of java.io.IOException {
java.io.PrintWriter Source code of java.io.PrintWriter out;
out.println("AAA");
}

}
If you want to see some example go to my website
http://www.rentsardinia.com/defaulte.html
and click on the map at this all are servlet.

Hope that help you

Regards

Rinaldo

Sounds plausible enough. at some point in the architecture we have to
synchronize the access to the data. but was kinda of thinking if we can
embed multi-threaded code in a servlet. won't these user-created threads
compete with the threads spawned by the servlet-container.....just a
doubt...

This is correct although not recommend (According to Jason Hunter "Java
Servlet Programming p.53". Because... "while the SingleThreadModel makes
the servlet itself thread safe, the interface does not make the system
thread safe" He recommends using synchronization with a connection pool.
Of course, I don't proclaim to be an expert...just going by the book :-)

You may your code Thread-Safe by implementing SingleThreadModel
Interface.

Subject: servlet access in the same time and the result "error"(urgent)

hai,

my question is why my servlet if access in the same time with two or
more
user and the result is nor showing the right result. This error happen
if
performance computer is low. How can i fix this problem ?

example:
user JAVA 1.4
win2000Server
MySQL 3.23.25
Servlet Name = test

user A access test and User B access test. Sometimes result for user A
get
a user B Result otherwise User B get a result user A.

and my code is

public void doGet(HttpServletRequest req,HttpServletResponse res)
 throws ServletException,IOException{
  synchronized(this){
   MainProcess(req,res);
  }
 }

 public void MainProcess(HttpServletRequest req,HttpServletResponse
res)
 throws ServletException,IOException{
   //do something
 }

TIA,

andy
