I am running on a windows xp home addition machine. I also have Oracle 8I database on the machine. Under Oracle HTTP server I have Apache 1.3 My questions are:

1) Is Apache the same as Tomcat?
2) If you have Apache(not running it) can you use Tomcat?

The reason I am asking the above questions is I am going to be learning PHP & MYSQL on my computer and the author of the book recommends to use Tomcat.
