  | | | new to java... | new to java... 2004-05-29 - By Gervas Douglas
Back Bruce,
There are tons of Java UserGroups in the Yahoo domain. Go to http://groups .yahoo.com/ and use the Search facility. I run a not very active Jini /JavaSpaces Group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jini_javaspaces/
This is not a technology that Sun likes to promote however.
Gervas Douglas
PS I guess we share the same surname!

i'm new to java... and am trying to determine if there is a java mailing list for developers who are new to java and are interested in doing some experimentation.
basically, i have an app that's written in java, and i'd like to test/play around with it a bit to get a feel as to how it works. so i'd like to be able to set it up, run it, as well as be able to make small edits/compilation changes, etc...
this would be under the linux OS.
if i could find a group for new developers (with some reasonable traffic of members) then i could get have a place to turn to if i have issues/problems setting things up.
thanks for any time/help/assistance with this issue...
regards
