I'm not new to programming in general but I'm new to the enterprise
level programming world. I have two questions.
---
What is the advantage of running your programs on an application server
such as BEA webLogic instead of just running them like any other
standalone J2SE application?
The Java Connector Architecture (JCA) seems very generic; is there
different "JCA protocols" used when JCA is interfacing with different
legacy systems? What exactly what type of legacy system can it work
with, any old DOS-program or must it be something that accepts socket
connections?
Regards,
/m
