| Is there any possibility to set or change programmatically what seems to be org.apache.log4j.Logger's read-only property: debugEnabled?
| You can only ask for its value through isDebugEnable().
| Is it possible they didn't think about a getter method?

I guess you meant setter, right?

| Please, help me.

How can you possibly ask this on Sun's "servlet-interest" mailing list?
Log4j-questions on servlet-interest? Amazing, really!

How about trying log4j's user list?

( You configure the log4j logging hierarchy using "Configurators", not on
the Logger instances themselves. The best option is to use a config file.
RTFM.. )
